Joseph A Orlando

Joseph A. “Joe” Orlando, 75, of Albany Township, Berks County, formerly a long time resident of York, died Monday, November 3, 2014 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the companion of Cassandra D. (Dellinger) Sewell; and the widower of Arlene P. (Gulden) Orlando, who died September 23, 2011.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Joseph L. and Mary K. (Kisula) Orlando. He was a 1957 graduate of York Catholic High School. Joe worked as a truck driver for 41 years at the former Mason and Dixon Trucking, York, and ABF Freight System, Inc., Carlisle, retiring on his 62nd birthday in 2001. Joe, a people person, was a hard worker and handyman; who enjoyed doing home improvement projects, landscaping his yard, trains, and cars.

He is survived by Companion, Daughter, Michelle (Orlando), wife of Paul F. Miller, Albany Twp; Sons, Anthony J., husband of Holly J. (Ferguson) Orlando, Valrico, FL, Michael V., husband of Sarah (Richmond) Orlando, Marion, MI, Matthew P., husband of Jennifer L. (Ilgenfritz) Orlando, York; Sisters, Susan (Orlando) Creep, Rose Marie (Orlando) Stein; and Brother, Vincent, husband of Tanya Orlando, all of York. There are also 9 Grandchildren .

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 5:00 PM in Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 231 South Beaver Street, York, PA. A gathering with the family will be announced following the mass. Inurnment will be private.
