Joseph A Hoffner

Joseph A. Hoffner, 83, of Kern Drive, Topton, died Sunday, July 29, 2007 in Lexington, KY. He was the husband of Joyce A. (Erdman) Hoffner. They were married on February 27, 1946.

Born in Allentown, PA he was the son of the late Paul D. and Florence I. (Stittler) Hoffner. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1943; he then re-enlisted and served with the Fleet Reserve retiring in 1966 after 23 years of active service. He was employed by Consolidated Freightways, Allentown, retiring in 1987. He was Vice President of the Luther Haven Association. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Topton.

He is survived by Wife, Son, Stephen C. husband of Rita K. (Parris) Hoffner, Nicholasville, KY; Daughter, Barbara L. Hoffner, Allentown; Grandsons, Christopher A. Hoffner and Matthew C. Hoffner.

Memorial Services are Friday, August 3, 2007 at 10:30 AM in Grace Lutheran Church, 1 South Home Avenue, Topton. Inurnment with Military Honors in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Allentown.

The family requests contributions in Joseph’s memory to the American Cancer Society, Lehigh Valley Unit, 3893 Adler Place, Bethlehem, PA 18017. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
