John H. Weaver

John H. Weaver, 92 years, 11 months, 17 days, of Maxatawny Township, died peacefully, Thursday, July 17, 2025, in his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Edna Z. (Burkholder) Weaver. They were married December 18, 1952. Born in Earl Township, Lancaster County, John was a son of the late John O. and Leah M. (Horst) Weaver. He was a member of the Groffdale Conference of Mennonites and attended Center Mennonite Church, Kutztown.

John was a self-employed farmer and worked at Leesport livestock auction for 54 years. He also worked numerous years at the Kutztown Produce Auction.

In addition to his wife of 72 years, Edna, John is survived by nine daughters: Esther B. (Weaver), wife of Warren N. Shirk, Kutztown; Laura B. (Weaver), wife of John M. Brubaker, Kutztown; Annetta B. (Weaver), wife of Elam L. Zimmerman, Thorp, WI; Anna Mae B. (Weaver), wife of Ruben G. Nolt, Mertztown; Ruth Ann B. (Weaver), wife of David Brubacher, Thorp, WI; Edna Jane B. (Weaver), wife of Aaron Z. Nolt, Stanley, WI; Louella B. (Weaver) , wife of Jonas B. Martin, Stanley WI; Linda B. (Weaver), wife of Levi Z. Leid, Stanley, WI, (Linda was predeceased by her first husband, Earl Z. Brubacher; Dorcas B. (Weaver), wife of Aaron Z. Leid, Elkton, KY; five sons: James B., husband of Alma L. (Zimmerman) Weaver, Kutztown; John B., Jr., husband of Alma Z. (Leid) Weaver, Elkton, KY; Nelson B., husband of Karen N. (Snyder) Weaver, Curtiss, WI; Elton B., husband of Seleda M. (Zimmerman) Weaver, Merrill, WI; David B., husband of Anna S. (Burkholder) Weaver, Elkton, KY. Other survivors include a sister, Mary H. (Weaver), widow of Harold Z. Zimmerman, Woodbury, Blair County; a brother, Elmer H., husband of Elizabeth Z. (Burkholder) Weaver, Kutztown. There are 115 grandchildren; 306 great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John O. and Leah M. (Horst) Weaver, John was predeceased by sisters: Nora H. (Weaver), wife of John S. Martin; Anna H. Weaver; Ada H. (Weaver), wife of Aaron Z. Burkholder; Mabel H. Weaver; brothers Henry H., husband of Elsie Z. (Martin) Weaver; Alvin H., husband of Anna N. (Newswanger) Weaver; Paul H., husband of Esther H. (Zimmerman) Weaver; Norman H., husband of Katie S. (Snyder) Weaver; Eli H., husband of Mabel M. (Nolt) Weaver; Predeceased grandchildren include: James Z. Weaver, Jr.; and Chloe W. Leid; great grandchildren: Makayla S. Horning; Adrian B. Brubaker; Kevin Z. Brubaker; Austin L. Brubaker and Jon Mark Leid. There is also a previously mentioned son-in-law, Earl Z. Brubacher, predeceased husband of daughter Linda B. (Weaver) Leid, Stanley, WI.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at Center Mennonite Church, 80 Deysher Road, Kutztown, with Bishop Eli W. Burkholder, officiating. Interment in the adjoining Center Mennonite Church Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing in the home of John's daughter, Esther B. (Weaver) wife of Warren N. Shirk, 229 Hinterleiter Road, Kutztown, on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
