John M Sonday Jr

John M. Sonday, Jr., 69, of Bowers, died Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 10:55 p.m. in his family residence. He was the husband of Sandra E. (Angstadt) Sonday. They were married July 1, 1961.

Born in Bern Township he was a son of the late John M., Sr. and Lillie M. (Anspach) Sonday. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Bowers. He was a Maintenance Supervisor first for the former Gilbert Commonwealth, Reading for over 10 years, then for Brandywine Realty Trust, Morgantown, for 25 years until his retirement in January 2008. He first worked as a carpenter for George Strain Construction, Reading, for 10 years. He was a former member of Bowers Lions Club. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, antiquing and most of all watching his granddaughter Leanda’s Brandywine Bullets softball games.

He is survived by Wife, Daughters, Lori J. (Sonday) wife of Stephen S. Helms, Topton, Leslie J. Sonday, companion of Jeffrey M. Paterson, Lyon Station. In addition he is survived by a Granddaughter, Leanda M. Helms. There are also Sisters, Anna (Sonday) Luckenbill, Gladys (Sonday) Egan, Fern (Sonday) Fishburn; Step Sister, Viola Anspach. He was predeceased by a Brother, Lester Sonday and a Half Brother, Wayne Sonday.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in Union Cemetery of Bowers. Friends may call Tuesday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
