John C. Kutz

John C. Kutz, 95, of Kutztown, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown, PA. He was the husband of Evelyn E. (Schmoyer) Kutz, who died on August 3, 2003.

Born in Lyons, PA, John was the son of the late George A. Kutz, Jr., and Mabel A. (Fenstermacher) Kutz. John was a proud 1949 graduate of Kutztown Area High School, where he was a member of the 1949 basketball team, which won the PIAA District 3 Title under the leadership of Coach John Silan.

For 43 years, John was employed by Allentown-Portland Cement Company, working at their Evansville plant and was involved with the safety entity of his union. John enjoyed sports. He coached Little League and Babe Ruth League for KYAA for many years and was an avid golfer. He was also a member of Cougar Tale and St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Kutztown.

John is survived by his four sons, Dennis A., husband of Cynthia L. (Trax) Kutz, Kempton, PA, Ricky A., husband of Luana S. (Shueman) Kutz, Orlando, FL, Randy S., husband of Yvonne D. (Schantzenbach) Kutz, Ft. Myers, FL, and Tim J. Kutz, Kutztown; brother, Roger B. Kutz, Macungie; four grandchildren, Amanda D. Kutz, Doylestown, Jacob L., husband of Kimberly M. (Curran) Kutz, Wyomissing, Karissa L. (Kutz), wife of Michael Barrell, Kutztown, and Brandon S. Kutz, Kutztown; and seven great-grandchildren.

Along with his wife Evelyn and parents, John was predeceased by his siblings, Ray M. Kutz, Sr., Erma A. (Kutz) Rhode and Phyllis A. (Kutz) Moyer.

Services for John will be held privately by his family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John's memory to a charity of your choice.
