John J. Robertson

John J. Robertson, M.D., 96, formerly of Kutztown, died Friday, March 1, 2024, at The Highlands of Wyomissing, where he resided. His first wife, Marjorie K. (Kibler) died March 7, 1998, and his second wife E. Annette (Monroe) Robertson, Ed.D. died February 16, 2011.  Born in Girard Township, Erie County, PA, John was a son of the late John L. and Margaret L. (Harmon) Robertson. Dr. Robertson was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

John was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Class of 1957, where he received a Bachelor's degree in chemistry; then his medical degree in 1961. He served his internship and residency at Reading Hospital in 1961 and 1962, West Reading. He began his Family Medical Practice in Kutztown in 1962 and continued until his retirement on January 29, 1999.

Dr. Robertson was a member of the American Medical Association; Pennsylvania State Medical Society; Berks County Medical Society; and the American Academy of Family Practice.

Dr. Robertson is survived by three sons: Alan J., D.D.S., husband of Rita A. (Grim) Robertson, Kutztown; David G., husband of Pamela (Calvert) Robertson, Alexandria, VA; Russell W., husband of Lori A. (Hasson) Robertson, Fleetwood and daughter in law Alys (Kemp) widow of John T. Robertson, Spring Township. Other survivors include grandchildren: Nathaniel A. Robertson, M.D.; Taylor J. Robertson; Neil A. Robertson, D.M.D.; Zoe A. Robertson; Olivia L. Robertson; Matthew D. Robertson; Katharine C. Robertson and Zachary Houp. There are also nine great grandchildren. A sister, Marian R. (Robertson), widow of Paul Moynihan, Placentia, CA, also survives. In addition to his parents, wife, E. Annette, and his first wife, Marjorie, Dr. Robertson was predeceased by sons, Kenneth E. Robertson in 1952; and John T. Robertson in 2019; a daughter, Patricia A. Robertson in 2018; and a sister Margaret E. (Robertson) Roberts in 1988.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 740 Cherry Street, West Reading, PA 19611, with The Reverend Msgr. Joseph DeSantis, as Celebrant. Inurnment will be private, for the family, in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday evening, March 21, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, and again on Friday, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart R. C. Church.
