John Henry Smith

John Henry Smith, age 89, of 206 South Herbein Drive, Topton PA, died Tuesday, January 29, 2002 in his home. He was the Widower of the late Kathryn M. (Barto) Smith who died in 1980.

Born in Lyon Station PA, he was a foreman in the mount shop at the former Caloric Corporation, Topton, for 34 years retiring in 1977. He was a Member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton. He served on the Topton Borough Council; was a Member of the Topton Rotary Club, a Member of the Berks County Firemen's Association; and was the oldest Member of the Lyons Fire Company (since 1931), Lyon Station; a Member of the Ray A. Master Post #217, American Legion, Topton.

He is survived by his Daughter, Audrey L. (Smith) Cronrath of Topton PA; Grandson, Jon Timothy Cronrath; 2 Step Grandchildren and 6 Step Great Grandchildren. He is predeceased by Infant Son, Leonard Smith, 1935.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 4, 2002 in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 E. Weis Street, Topton. Family and Friends may call 10:00 AM Monday morning in the Funeral Home. Interment in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton.
