John H Hertzog

John H. Hertzog, 78, of 21 Foch St., Kutztown, died Tuesday, November 18, 2003, in Kutztown Manor. He was married to Ivy R. (Arndt) Alexander Hertzog for 16 years in May and to the late Edna M. (Schlegel) Hertzog.

Born in Hereford Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late Paul and Sallie (Dautrich) Hertzog. He was a truck driver for Nothstein Brothers, Trexlertown, for 10 years before retiring in 1987 and previously for other trucking firms in the area. He was a member of New Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Lenhartsville. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by Wife; Son, Ronald I. of Laureldale, Berks County; Daughters, Linda L. Kern of Fleetwood, Vicki A. Arndt of Lakeland, Fla.; Stepdaughter, Joan D. Swavely of Stony Run; Brother, William Ruppert of Kempton; Sister, Isabel Zerbe of Reading; 14 Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a Daughter, Sandra M. Yates, in 1995 and by a Son, Thomas J.

Funeral services are Saturday, November 22, 2003 at 10:00 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment with military honors in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Fleetwood. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until time of services.
