John G. Ream, Sr., 91, of Maidencreek Township, formerly of Kutztown died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the widow of Melba M. (Moyer) Ream who died October 27, 2009. His first wife Jean A. (Rhoads) Ream died in 1952.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late George J., Sr. and Catherine (Seidel) Ream. He was a member of New Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Rockland Township, where he was a former deacon and elder for many years. Mr. Ream was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. He was employed as a custodian by Brandywine Heights Area School District, in the Longswamp Elementary School, for 15 years, retiring in 1985. Prior to that, he was employed as a sheet metal worker for various manufacturers in the area. Mr. Ream was a life member and past Commander and of Ray A. Master Post #217, American Legion, Topton.

He is survived by Daughters, Gale J. (Ream) wife of Larry P. Miller, Alburtis, Brenda J. (Ream) wife of Lawrence P. Murin, Lower Alsace Township, Aleece A. (Ream) wife of Neven J. Dries, Hamburg; Sons, Dale J. Ream husband of Mayumi (Sakai) Fukayama, Japan, Robert A. husband of Donna (Sokol) Ream, Kutztown, Donald J. husband of Amy (Smith) Ream, Lake Placid, NY, Noel D. Ream, companion of Ruth Landis, Krumsville; Daughter-in-law, Jami K. (Kelly) Ream, Maine, widow of predeceased Son, John G. Ream who died November 15, 1999; Step Son, Errol L. and his wife Rose Moyer, Blandon; Sisters, Ruth (Ream) Gauby, June J. (Ream) McKently, both of Fleetwood, Betty J. (Ream) Snyder, Temple; Brothers, Dick H. Ream, Jack E. Ream, both of Fleetwood, George J. Ream, Jr., Kutztown, Ronald G. Ream, Bowers. He is also survived by 14 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 grandchildren.

Funeral Services are Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 10:30 AM in New Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 33 Lyons Road, Fleetwood. Interment in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Fleetwood with Military Honors provided by Ray A. Master, Post 217, American Legion, Topton. Friends may call Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown.

The family requests contributions be made to the New Jerusalem U.C.C. Church, 33 Lyons Road, Fleetwood, 19522. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.>>
