Mr. John F. Ford

John "Jack" Francis Ford, 87, of Windsor Township, formerly of Maxatawny Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2024 in his residence. He was the loving husband of Marion C. (Ondeck) Ford, whom he married on July 28, 1962.

Born on February 9, 1937 at Ashland General Hospital, Fountain Springs, Schuylkill County, PA, Jack was a son of the late Daniel J. and Mary T. (Rowan) Ford. Jack grew up in Pottsville, PA where he attended St. Patrick's Elementary School and Pottsville Catholic High School, Class of 1954, where he excelled on the football field. Jack proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, serving as a Private First Class motor pool driver specialist from 1955 until 1962.

Jack's varied business career in finance and manufacturing progressed through increasingly responsible management positions in Pennsylvania and Ohio with ITT Aetna Finance, Hess Oil Company, A.S. Berman Automotive and the Bachman Pretzel Company.

Jack was a man of deep Christian faith, serving for over 50 years at his beloved St. Mary's Roman Catholic Parish in Kutztown as a lector, eucharistic minister and coffee server at monthly parish and community breakfasts after Sunday mass. He always was available to assist when called upon by the Pastors of St. Mary's.

While living in Maxatawny Township, Jack along with his wife Marion, enjoyed taking care of their old farm house. He always took great pride in caring for his property. Above all, Jack loved spending time wife his family.

Along with his wife of 62 years, Marion, Jack is survived by his three children, David Ford, husband of Tobie (Stowe) Ford, of Pottstown, Karin Ford, of Allentown, and John Ford, of Wilmington, DE; and four grandchildren, Olivia, Robert, Justin and Johnny. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Dan, Bob and Maryann.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, with The Reverend John C. Maria as Celebrant. A visitation with his family will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. in the church. Burial will be held privately by his family.

The family requests contributions be made in Jack's memory to St. Mary's RC Church, 14833 Kutztown Road., Kutztown, PA 19530.
