John A Toth

John A. Toth, Jr., 89, of Longswamp Township, died on Sunday, January 1, 2017, in his residence, surrounded by his loving family and close friends. John was the widower of Lois E. (Boyer) Toth, who died May 23, 2013.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late John A., Sr., and Elizabeth (Gall) Toth. John attended Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Kutztown.  He honorably served our country in the United States Army. John graduated from Temple University, Philadelphia, with an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement. Mr. Toth was a member of the Philadelphia Police Department, having attained the rank of Lieutenant. He retired in 1973. Following his retirement, John worked as a truck driver for the Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia.

He is survived by Son, John A., husband of Jimette (Sampson) Toth, Bordentown, NJ. Other survivors include a Brother, Francis Toth, Port Richey, Fla. There are 4 Grandchildren, Tara C. (Toth), wife of Timothy R. Gravino, James J., husband of Heather K. (Kritzer) Toth, Tammy E. (Toth), wife of Matthew C. MacLean, and Jackie L. (Toth) wife of Mark C. Sullivan; and 8 Great Grandchildren, Dominic R. Gravino, Joseph J. Gravino, Madison K. MacLean, Sarah E. MacLean, Gregory J. Toth, Grace E. Toth, Evelyn J. Sullivan and Owen J. Sullivan; and a Cousin, David A. Toth. John was predeceased by his Parents, Wife, a Daughter, Elizabeth Toth, and 4 Brothers, Alexander, Joseph, Ernest and Robert Toth.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville, Bucks County.

The family requests contributions be made in memory of John to Berks Visiting Nurse Association Hospice, 1170 Berkshire Boulevard, Wyomissing, PA 19610. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
