Joel T. Beck, 67, of Topton, died on Monday, March 29, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where he was a patient several days. Born in Kutztown, Joel was a son of the late Glenn R. Beck, Sr. and Althea D. (Stein) Beck Snyder. Joel was a member of Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kutztown.
Joel was employed as a pattern maker for the former Kutztown Foundry, Kutztown; he was also employed at the former Beck's Feed and Grain, Kutztown.
Joel was a talented musician, playing guitar and singing vocals in several bands in the area. Joel also was a collector and a demonstrator of guitars. He was a member of the Kutztown Rod & Gun Club, Kutztown; and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Kutztown.
Joel is survived by two brothers: Glenn R., Jr., husband of Deborah A. (Arnold) Beck, Palmyra, Lebanon County; and Dwight B., husband of Linda (Brandt) Beck, Maxatawny. In addition to his parents, Joel was predeceased by a sister, Melanie A. Beck, who died July 28, 1979.
A memorial service to celebrate Joel's life will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with the Rev. Mary Ann Hamm, officiating. Inurnment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
