Joan R Heffner

Joan R. (Conrad) Heffner, 87 of Lower Macungie Towsnhip, died Sunday, May 8, 2022, in the In-Patient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.  She was the wife of Carl P. Heffner.  They were married September 29, 1954.  Born in Longswamp Township, Joan was a daughter of the late Ernest D. and Helen D. (Hoffman) Conrad.  Joan was a member of Huff's Union Church, Alburtis.

Joan was a graduate of Emmaus High School, Class of 1952.  Joan first worked as a sewing machine operator at the former Royal Manufacturing, Alburtis.  She then worked as a candy maker at Josh Early Candies, Allentown, until her retirement.

Joan enjoyed watching game shows on television; going to the casinos; and spending time with her beloved cats, especially Patty.

In addition to her husband of 68 years, Carl, Joan is survived by a daughter, Kelly J. Heffner, Allentown. There is a daughter-in-law, Kathie Heffner, widow of predeceased son Jeffrey C. Heffner, Allentown.  Other survivors include two sisters: Joyce D. (Conrad) widow of Dale A. Diehl, Aventura, FL; and Nancy F. (Conrad), wife of Charles C. Hoffman, Wescosville.  There are three grandchildren:  Sarah Marsh, Coplay; Annie Bostick, Northampton; Emily Bostick, Allentown.  There is also a nephew, Ernest Diehl, Aventura, FL and two nieces: Cheryl Gross, Allentown; and Tracy Hoffman, Allentown.

A private graveside service to celebrate and honor Joan's life will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Saint John's Union Cemetery, Fogelsville.  There are no public viewing or calling hours.
