Ms. Joan N. Oswald

Joan N. Oswald, 83, of Topton, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in Willow Brook Rehabilitation and Nursing, Kutztown. Born in Topton, Joan was a daughter of the late Clarence R. and Daisy M. (Kemp) Oswald.

She was a 1958 graduate of Brandywine Heights High School, Topton, and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and former member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, both of Topton. Joan was employed as a sewing machine operator for 17 years at Fleetwood Shirt Factory. She later worked as a nurse's aide at The Lutheran Home at Topton for seven years.

Joan was a volunteer at The Lutheran Home at Topton and assisted with Bible study. A kind-hearted person, Joan was the caregiver to her family and others who needed extra assistance.

Joan is survived by three nieces and several close friends. Along with her parents, Joan was predeceased by her four siblings, Ralph Oswald, Russell L. Oswald, Jean A. Oswald and Hurley J. Oswald.

A graveside service to celebrate and honor Joan's life and burial will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Topton Union Cemetery, 6 North Callowhill Street, Topton, PA, with The Rev. Alton Zentner officiating.
