Joan E. Schafer, 59, of Roth Avenue, Mertztown (Longswamp Twp.), died Saturday, November 12, 2005, in her residence.

Born in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of Anne (Holton) Ermete of West Reading, and the late George Ermete. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Unity Church of Reading, Temple, PA.

She is survived by Mother, Son, Alex G. Schafer, Mertztown (Longswamp Twp.); Daughters, Jane S. (Schafer) wife of Gregory D. Lee, Pleasantville, NY; 4 Grandchildren. She was predeceased by a Daughter, Judy N. Schafer, who died in June 2001.

Funeral Services are Friday, November 18, 2005, 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in Zion’s Cemetery of Perry Township. Friends may call Friday, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
