Jo Ann Wells

Jo Ann (Stemetzki) Wells, 68, of Kutztown, died Monday, July 14, 2014 in her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was the husband of Richard P. Wells. They were married May 18, 2002.

Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Martha (Hanas) Stemetzki. Mrs. Wells was Catholic. She was a graduate of Lansford High School and The Reading Hospital School of Nursing. She was also a graduate of Cedar Crest College and DeSales University, receiving a Bachelor and Master's degree in Nursing. Jo Ann was employed as a Registered Nurse by Lehigh Valley Health Network, working at their Cedar Crest campus for 30 years. She was a volunteer for Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, Allentown, for several years, and volunteered her time with the annual Women's 5K Classic Breast Cancer Awareness Walk in Allentown since 1996.

She is survived by Husband; Step-Sons, Matthew C. Wells, husband of Saloni Sharma, M.D., Wayne, and Mark C., husband of Tiffany (Geklinsky) Wells, Bethlehem; Sisters, Carol J. (Stemetzki), wife of Robert Geyer, Port Charlotte, FL; Patricia J. (Stemetzki), widow of William Lawrence, Summit Hill; Brother, Joseph M. Stemetzki, Lansford; and 2 Grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved Sheltie, Buddy. She was predeceased by a Sister, Judith M. (Stemetzki) Sentiwany, who died in 2001 .

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Fr. Joseph S. Ganser officiating. Interment will follow in Saint Nicholas Orthodox Catholic Cemetery, Hometown. Relatives and friends may call Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
