Jerome J. “J.J.” Tyson, 38, of New Tripoli, died suddenly Saturday, November 3, 2012 shortly after admission in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where he was taken after a work accident in Lehigh County. He was the husband of Melissa M. (Baus) Tyson. They were married May 2, 1998.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of Randall A. Tyson, Ringtown, Schuylkill County and Eileen K. Reiss, Whitehall. He was Lutheran and attended Saint Pauls Lutheran Church, Mertztown. Jerome was the owner/operator of J. T.s Home Maintenance & Remodeling, New Tripoli for over six years; he also was a truck driver with JBC Trucking, a contract operator for the US Postal Service. Prior to that, he was an instructor of Heavy Equipment Operations at Lehigh Career & Technical Institute, Schnecksville. J.J. was a former member of the Macungie Volunteer Fire Department Fire Police.
He is survived by Wife, Parents, Daughters, Felicia M. Tyson, Middleburg, Clay County, Fla. and Shelby L. Tyson, at home; Son, William S. "Billy" Tyson, also at home. Other survivors include a Sister, Jennifer L. (Tyson) wife of Douglas P. Miller, Jr., Frederica, DE; Grandson, Christopher Lee "CJ" Semmel, Jr., Middleburg, Fla., 2 nieces and a nephew.
Funeral Services are Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM from Saint Pauls Lutheran Church, 50 Luther Drive, Mertztown. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Friday, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM both viewing times will be in the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Jerome J. "J.J." Tyson Memorial Fund for William S. "Billy" and Shelby L. Tyson, c/o Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., P.O. Box 292, Kutztown, PA 19530-0292. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.>>
