Jeffrey Y. “Bubba” DeLong, 67, of Kutztown, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, as the result of a pedestrian accident in Ocean City, Maryland. Jeffrey was the husband of Bonnie J. (King) DeLong. They were married on June 6, 1975.
Born in West Reading, Jeffrey was a son of the late Yale J. DeLong and Bertha M. (Wagaman) Bond. He was a stepson of the late Lester F. Bond. A 1966 graduate of Kutztown Area High School, Jeff honorably and faithfully served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Bubba enjoyed hunting and was an avid golfer, but most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jeffrey was employed as an electrician by Kutztown University, for over 30 years until his retirement in 2004.
In addition to his wife of 40 years, Bonnie, Jeff is survived by 3 Sons, Jacob K., husband of Lisa A. (Karwacki) DeLong, Delran, NJ; Twins, Gregory A. DeLong, Phoenixville, and Andrew W. DeLong, Kutztown. Other survivors include 2 Sisters, Sherry V. (DeLong), wife of Allan M. Wolf, North Haven, CT and Tammy M. Bond, companion of Steve M. Haring, Lyon Station; 2 Brothers, Jimmy D. husband of Sue A. (Kolarsick) DeLong, Hellertown and Yale J., II, husband of Ann M. (Gavin) DeLong, Yorktown, VA. There is also one Granddaughter, Zoey Claire DeLong. Jeff was predeceased by a Brother, Mitchell E. Bond.
Family and friends are invited to a public visitation on Monday evening, May 9, 2016, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
The family requests contributions be made in Jeffrey's memory to the Jeffrey Y. DeLong Memorial Fund c/o Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., P.O. Box 292, Kutztown, PA 19530-0292, to benefit local charitable organizations. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
