Jean S. (Greis) Adam, 73, of Longswamp Township, died Thursday, September 12, 2013 in her residence surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Franklin G. Adam. They were married April 19, 1958.
Born in Rockland Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Helen May (Gambler) Greis. Mrs. Adam was a member of the reformed congregation of Huff's Union Church, Alburtis. She was employed as a housekeeper by The Lutheran Home at Topton for 22 years. She was also employed as a farmer working on The Lutheran Home's farm in Longswamp Township for over 30 years. Mrs. Adam was a member of Pike Township Sportsman's Association. She liked to play bingo and do word search puzzles. She also loved to travel with her husband, Franklin, and spend time with her family, especially her great grandchildren.
She is survived by Husband; Sons, Scott A., husband of Shelly A. (Bucks) Adam, Topton, Terry L., husband of Frances C. (Grow) Adam, Harrisburg; Troy A., husband of Beth J. (Schwalm) Adam, Mertztown; Sisters, Paulene (Greis) Reinert, Helen (Greis) Bower, Carrie (Greis) Keiser; brother, Arthur Greis. She is also survived by 6 Grandchildren, Joshua Adam, Travis Adam, Amber Shilling, Jana Swoyer, Katie Kehm, Keegan Adam; and 5 Great Grandchildren, Cailey, Abby, Colton, Natalie, Jase, and was looking forward to the birth of her sixth Great Grandchild later this month.
Funeral Services are Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 10:30 AM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Interment will follow in Huff's Church Union Cemetery, Alburtis. Relatives and friends may call Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
