Jean R Christman

Jean R. (Kock) Christman, 87, of Orwigsburg Center, formerly of Lenhartsville died Friday, December 23, 2011 in Schuylkill Medical Center, Pottsville. She was the wife of Carl W. Christman. They were married August 9, 1948.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Clarence R. and Ellen V. (Younger) Koch. Jean was a member of Zion’s Church, Perry Township. She worked as sewing machine operator at the former Modern Manufacturing Co., Allentown in the early 1940’s.

She is survived by Husband, Daughter, Diane J. (Christman) wife of Leon G. Smith, Kutztown; Son, Dennis C. husband of Susan L. (Reimert) Christman, Lenhartsville. Other survivors include a Brother, Theodore F. “Sonny” Koch, Allentown; Grandchildren, Troy D. Christman, Heather L. (Christman) Gruber, Desirae C. (Christman) Warke, Nathan D. Christman and Andrew R. Smith; Great Grandchildren Connor and Mason Gruber, Emma and Cole Christman and Logan Warke. Mrs. Christman was predeceased by Sisters, Jeanette (Koch) Treese, Delorus (Koch) Kasmaric and Annette (Koch) Gerstenberg; Brothers, George Koch, Leonard Koch and Alexander Koch.

Funeral Services are Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 10:30 AM from Zion’s Church, 770 Zion’s Church Road, Hamburg. Interment in Zion’s Cemetery of Perry Township. Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.
