Jean M Schrettner

Jean M. Schrettner, 75, formerly of Mertztown, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007 in Kutztown Manor Nursing Home, Kutztown. She was the widow of John P. Schrettner who died in January 1996. Her first husband, Henry W. Geist died in October, 1971.

Born in Longswamp Township, she was a daughter of the late Amandus and Arlene G. (Roth) Brensinger. She was employed as a sewing machine operator at the former Royal Manufacturing, Alburtis from 1964 to 1989. She worked in the same capacity at the former Jo-Del Manufacturing, Topton, from 1989 until her retirement in 1997. She also had been employed one year at the former Penn Dutch Cookie Factory, Fleetwood. She was a member of Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Kutztown.

She is survived by Daughter, Dolores M. (Miller) wife of Irwin C. Bauer, Mertztown; Son, Henry W. husband of Margaret M. (Nolen) Geist, Hamburg; Sisters, Althea C. (Brensinger) widow of Elmer Moyer, Mertztown, Linda B. (Brensinger) wife of Terry Stettler, Alburtis; Brothers, Ernest S. Brensinger, Old Zionsville, Jackson D. Brensinger, Alburtis, Russell Brensinger, Gilbertsville. In addition, she is survived by Grandchildren, Karen S. Bauer, Melissa A. (Bauer) wife of Robert E. Bachman, Elizabeth A. Geist and Andrew J. Geist. There are 4 Great Grandchildren, Logan Bachman, Abigail Gracious, Tyler and Jordyn Geist. She was predeceased by Brothers, Herbert B. and Charles Brensinger.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 31, 2007, 10:00 a.m. from Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown. Interment in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Friends may call Monday, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the church.

The family requests contributions be made to Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
