Jean G Greiss

Jean G. Greiss, 85, of Topton, formerly of Mertztown, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the widow of Paul R. Greiss, who died January 12, 2010.

Born in Longswamp Township, she was a daughter of the late Warren A. and Neida V. (Yoder) Reppert. Mrs. Greiss was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton, where she formerly served as a member of the Alter Guild. She was employed as a nurses aide by The Lutheran Home at Topton for 22 years, retiring in 1989. Prior to that, she was employed as a sewing machine operator by the former Royal Manufacturing, Alburtis. Mrs. Greiss was a member of the Topton Womens Club. She was also part of a bowling league for many years.

She is survived by Daughter, Melissa B. (Greiss), wife of Barry D. Haydt, Fleetwood; Grandson, Eric S., husband of Angela M. (Lightcap) Haydt, Gilbertsville; and Great Grandson, Ethan W. Haydt.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Interment will follow in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
