Jean E Snyder

Jean E. (Frederick) Snyder, 81, of Kutztown, died Friday, June 22, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where she was admitted June 20, 2012.

Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of the late Harriet M. Juryea. She was a 1948 graduate of Reading High School. Mrs. Snyder was a member of St. Johns UCC Church, Kutztown, where she was a former consistory member. She was co-chair of the Easter Candy Project for over forty years. She also was an assistant Girl Scout leader and member of the former Jaycee Wives. Jean was employed over 15 years as a sewing machine operator at the former KATOS Sportswear, Kutztown and over 20 years as a clerk at Saucony Dry Cleaners, Kutztown. Jean was also a volunteer transportation provider coordinated through the Lutheran Home at Topton. Jean enjoyed cooking family dinners, was a wonderful baker and a talented seamstress.

She is survived by Daughters, Sharon L. (Snyder) wife of Thomas E. Smith, Kutztown, Dawn M. (Snyder) wife of Gregg D. Geschwindt, Blandon; Daughter-in-law, Susan J. (Schaeffer) widow of pre-deceased Son, Frank J. Snyder (1981); Grandchildren, Chad A. Smith, Joel T., husband of Elaine (Harchuska) Smith, Jena M. Deisher, Fiancé of Joseph Thorpe, Jared J. Deisher, Jeremy J., husband of Jennifer (Purdy) Snyder and Bradley T. Snyder, Fiancé of Rane Walker; Great Grandchildren, Issac M. Deisher, Noah X. Mojica, Barrett F. Snyder, Heath Snyder and Isabella M. Snyder. Also surviving are a Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, William T. and Dolores Snyder, Reading.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, June 26, 2012, 10:30 AM in St. Johns UCC Church, 257 W. Walnut St, Kutztown, 19530. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Monday evening, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM in Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, and Tuesday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.
