Mrs. Jean D. Printz Norris

Jean Dolores (Smith) Printz Norris, 87, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed peacefully at her home in Macungie (Longswamp Township), on Thursday, August 15, 2024. She was the widow of Stuart H. Printz, Sr., who died on January 24, 1992 and Robert W. Norris, who passed on October 23, 2011.

Born in Reading, PA, Jean was a daughter of the late Melvin S. and Edith V. (Miller) Smith and was a 1954 graduate of Reading High School. Following her high school graduation, Jean attended Reading Hospital School of Nursing. Jean was very proud of her home and family and was a highly dedicated mother and wife. Later in her life, Jean attended Empire Beauty School and became a Licensed Cosmetologist. Most recently, she worked as an Administrative Assistant and Manager at the former Dale Enterprises, Inc., Emmaus until retirement.

Jean was a dedicated and faithful member of Huff’s Union Church, Alburtis, where through the years, she was a member of the Ladies Aid and volunteer. She also served as the treasurer of the Huff’s Church Fersommling and was also active with their Pennsylvania Dutch plays and the Kiwanis Club. Jean had a love for animals, reading, taking care of her flowers, and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Above all, Jean loved her family dearly and was everybody’s caretaker. She had a very sweet, gentle and sincere personality was loved by everyone that met her. She was lovingly referred to as “Mommom” to not only family, but to family friends as well. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Jean is survived by her children, Cheryl A. (Printz), wife of Glenn Koch, Mohnton, Stuart H. Printz, Jr., Northampton, Scott A. Printz, Abilene, KS, Keith A., husband of Mollie Printz, Burgaw, NC, Kevin D. Printz, Fleetwood, Donna J. (Printz), wife of Jack Dugas, Fleetwood, and Linda L. Printz, Macungie; daughter-in-law, Suzette Printz, widow of predeceased son, Michael D. Printz, who died in 2015, Castle Rock, CO; 31 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; Robert’s children, Joan (Norris), wife of Dr. Willis Rapp, Blandon and Dr. Robert S. Norris, husband of Debra Norris, Palm Beach, FL; his three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and her loving caregiver, Nino.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor Jean’s life will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Huff’s Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis, PA, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading, PA.
