Jay T. Rentschler, 75, of Constitution Blvd., Kutztown, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, in Kutztown Manor Nursing Home, where he was a patient since May 10 th . He was the husband of Audrey M. (Dietrich) Rentschler. They were married July 1, 1950.

Born in Kutztown, PA, he was the son of the late Earl D. and Lillian M. (Hoch) Rentschler. He was a 1948 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. He was first employed as a route salesman for Rentschler’s Bakery, Kutztown, then became a baker, and in 1990, along with his brother owned and operated the bakery until its closing in August 2001. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kutztown. He was a PA Army National Guard Veteran. He was a member of Huguenot Lodge #377, F.&A.M., Kutztown; he was a 32 nd degree Mason with Reading Consistory Scottish Rite A.A.S.R., and a member of Rajah Shrine, A.O.N.M.S.

He is survived by Wife, Daughter, Linda S. (Rentschler) wife of Arlan E. Seaman, Jr., Greenwich Twp.; Son, Michael E. Rentschler, Lower Macungie Twp; Brother, Larry B. husband of Joyce Rentschler, Kutztown. There are five grandchildren; Lisa M. (Seaman) Bogert, Cathy L. Seaman, Paul J. Butler, Laura A. Rentschler, and Michael L. Rentschler. There are also three great grandchildren; Joshua G. Bogert, Nicholas J. Bogert, and Brandon A. Butler. He was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara A. (Rentschler) Butler, who died July 16, 2004, and a sister, Shirley J. (Rentschler) Miller, who died in 1987.

Funeral Services are Saturday, June 24, 2006, at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich St., Kutztown. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Friday, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and Saturday, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

The family requests contributions be made to Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 North 11 th St., Reading, 19604-1506. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
