Janet P Schadler

Janet P. Schadler, 70, of Pershing Street, Kutztown, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, shortly after admission. She was the wife of David A. Schadler. They were married on August 23, 1958.

Born in Edinboro, Erie County, PA., she was the daughter of Hazel A. (Millspaw) Peterson of Edinboro and the late Walter L. Peterson. She was a 1956 graduate of Edinboro High School; and a 1959 graduate of Kutztown University, Kutztown, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Art and Elementary Education. She also received her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the same college. She was an elementary teacher in the Hamburg School District, teaching at both Shoemakersville and the Hamburg elementary schools from 1967 to 2000. She also served as head teacher. She served as past president of the Pennsylvania State Educators Association, she was a lifetime member and treasurer of the Hamburg Elementary PTO; and she was current treasurer of the Ray A. Master, Post #217, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Topton.

She is survived by Husband, Mother, Daughter, Kathleen M. (Schadler) wife of David M. Oakes; Son, Kenneth A. husband of Donna B. (Border) Schadler both of Topton; Sisters, Ruth (Peterson) Hayes, Morriston, FL, Zelma (Peterson) Loop, Edinboro, Carol (Peterson) Christensen, Port Allegany, PA, Martha (Peterson) Taylor, Salem, Oregon; Brother, Larry Peterson, Saegertown, PA; Grandchildren, Kelsey J. Schadler, Leah M. Schadler and Brooke N. Schadler. She was predeceased by Granddaughters, Theresa M. Frymoyer on September 25, 2004 and Kristina M. Frymoyer on January 30, 1984.

Funeral Services are Friday, November 16, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Inurnment Monday, November 19, 2007 at 11:00 AM in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the funeral home.
