Mrs. Janet D. Luckenbill

Janet D. (Weidner) Luckenbill, 89, formerly of Blandon, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021 , in ManorCare Health Services, Pottstown. Janet was also a resident of Keystone Villa, Blandon, and The Meadows at Shannondell, Audubon. She was the widow of Richard H. Luckenbill who died on March 14, 2004, and whom she married on June 7, 1952.

Born in Kutztown, Janet was a daughter of the late Warren and Roma (Derr) Weidner. She was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School and later attended business school. Janet worked as an Executive Secretary for several businesses in the Audubon/ Oaks, PA area.

Janet was a volunteer at the former Hearthstone at Maidencreek, where she enjoyed baking, making crafts , and calling BINGO with the residents. She also enjoyed quilting and gardening. Janet had a deep belief in God.

Janet is survived by her three children, Amy B. (Luckenbill), widow of William J. Murphy, Eagleville, Susan L. Luckenbill, partner of Mara A. Di Salvo, Scranton, and Matthew J., husband of Bobbie J. (Ridge) Luckenbill, Phoenixville; and three grandchildren, William J. Murphy, Megan J. Murphy , and Justin M. Luckenbill.

Along with her husband and parents, Janet was predeceased by her siblings, John Weidner, Calvin Weidner, Wallace Weidner, Mary (Weidner) Geist , and Arlene (Weidner) McDonough.

A funeral service to celebrate Janet’s life will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 , at 11:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with her former neighbor, Pastor Byron Wolfer officiating.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown.
