Jane R Haydt

Jane R. Haydt, 87, of Topton, formerly of Kutztown, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in The Lutheran Home at Topton, where she was a resident since November, 2012. She was the widow of Harry W. Haydt, who died February 9, 1996.

Born in Lenhartsville, she was a daughter of the late Mark and Nora (Bower) Smith. Mrs. Haydt was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, Kutztown. She was employed as a cook for Kutztown Area School District, working in their Jr. High School for several years. She later was employed as a sewing machine operator by the former Katos Sportswear, Kutztown, for 10 years, retiring in 1987. Mrs. Haydt was a member of the Kutztown and Lyons Fire Companys Ladies Auxiliary, Kutztown Senior Citizens, and the Kutztown Sesquicentennial Lillibelles.

She is survived by Sons, Barry D., husband of Melissa B. (Greiss) Haydt, Fleetwood, and Randy J. Haydt, Kutztown; Grandson, Eric S., husband of Angela M. (Lightcap) Haydt, Gilbertsville; and a Great Grandson, Ethan W. Haydt. She was pre-deceased by a Son, Steven M. Haydt in 1955, and a Brother, Stanley Smith.

Funeral Services are Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 11:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 AM in the funeral home.

The family requests contributions be made to St. Johns United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 257 W. Walnut Street, Kutztown, PA 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
