James L. Romig, Jr., 55, of Greenwich Township, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where he had been a patient since October 23 rd . He was the husband of Linda L. (Hein) Romig. They were married on January 23, 1971.
Born in Allentown, he was a son the late Naomi H. (Batz) and James L. Romig, Sr. He was a member of New Jerusalem Zion UCC Church, Lenhartsville. He was self employed as a hauler for over ten years; prior to that, he was a truck driver for Freeman Dairy, Dietrich’s Milk Hauling and Schlitzer’s Milk Hauling. He was also employed by Supreme Auto Body, Allentown. He was an avid race fan and stock car driver in car “01” racing at Dorney Park, Allentown, then Mahoning Valley Speedway. He was also with the infield crew for races at both Dorney and Mahoning Valley.
He is survived by Wife, Sons, Toby J. Romig, Allentown, Brian M. and his wife Debbie Romig, Schnecksville; Granddaughters, Brittany E. Romig and Katelyn M. Romig, who reside with their grandparents at home; Brothers, Dennis Romig and Jeffrey husband of Terri Romig, both of Coplay, Rodger husband of Trez Romig, Maxatawny, Daniel Romig, Germansville, Rodney Romig, Ballietsville; Grandchildren, Victoria Romig, Brian Romig, Jr., Savannah Romig, and Nicholas Romig. He was predeceased by Grandson, T. J. Romig.
Funeral Services are Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 10:30 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Trexlertown. Friends may call Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
