Our angel, Jacquelyn F. Sokol, 85, of Keystone Villa, Blandon, formerly of Kutztown and Summerfield, Fla., went to be with the Lord, Monday, August 13, 2012, with her loving family by her side. She was the widow of Charles B. Sokol, Jr., who died July 25, 2010. They were married for 64 years.
Born in Host, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Zook) Dissinger. She was a graduate of Hamburg High School. Known by all as "Jackie," her and her husband owned and operated the former Central Hotel and Sokols Beer and Soda Distributorship, Kutztown. Jackie was a kind, sweet, compassionate soul known for her loving, caring nature towards everyone. She enjoyed her winters in Florida, spoiling her grandchildren, and baking her famous red velvet cakes. Sharing her game playing passion with her many friends, especially "farkeling" will be remembered.
Most of all, she was a loving, dedicated mother to Daughters, Cindy J. (Sokol) Schlegel, Fleetwood, Donna R. (Sokol) wife of Robert A. Ream, Kutztown and Cathy S. wife of John F. Luchetta, The Villages, Fla.; Sons, Barry C. husband of Barbara S. (Schlenker) Sokol and David R. husband of Weatherly J. (Leibensperger) Sokol, both of Kutztown. She was predeceased by a Brother, Donald Dissinger. She is also survived by 9 Grandchildren, 4 Step Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and 7 Step Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services are Friday, August 17, 2012, 10:00 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Interment in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township. Friends may call 9:00 to 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
The family requests contributions be made to American Red Cross Berks County Chapter, 701 Centre Avenue, Reading, PA 19601-259. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
