Jacqueline C. "Jackie" Brown, 93, formerly of Topton, died peacefully Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in Phoebe, Allentown. She was the widow of Leroy F. "Jock" Brown, who died September 1, 2022. They were married June 25, 1949. Born in New Cumberland, York County, PA, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Catherine (Hopkins) Winter.
Endowed with a keen eye for beauty and an inherent love for flowers, Jacqueline embarked on a journey to share her passion with the world. As the proud owner and operator of Jackie & Daughter Flower Shops, with locations in Kutztown and Topton, she adorned the lives of many with the elegance and charm of her creations. Her talent brought solace, joy, and color to countless occasions, enriching the lives of those she served.
Jacqueline reveled in the beauty of her surroundings and nurtured a deep connection with nature. With a vibrant personality that could light up a room, Jackie's infectious laughter and kind heart won the affection of everyone who crossed her path. Jacqueline's entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to her craft were matched only by her devotion to her family. She also enjoyed oil color painting and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Jackie is survived three daughters: Tonia W. (Brown) Alexander, Hamburg; Shawn C. Brown, wife of Daniel Whitaker, Kutztown; Shannon K. (Brown) Sibiski, Topton. Other survivors include, grandchildren: Joshua L. Alexander; Kirby Sibiski; Beckham Sibiski. There are also great grandchildren: Kenzie R. Alexander; and Finn Alexander; and a sister, Dorie (Winter) Weidner, Allentown. In addition to her husband, LeRoy and parents, Jackie was predeceased by a sister, Maureen (Winter) Schiffert.
A public visitation will be held for Jackie on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Private graveside service and inurnment in Hope Cemetery, Dryville, officiated by The Reverend Martin Milne, will be at the convenience of the family.
