Ivy R Hertzog

Ivy R. Hertzog, 86, formerly of Foch Street, Kutztown, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, in Kutztown Manor, Kutztown, where she has been a resident since March 25, 2005. She was the wife of the late John H. Hertzog who died on November 18, 2003.

Born in Mahanoy City, PA (Schuylkill County), she was the daughter of the late Arthur E. and the late Martha E. (Bamhart) Arndt. She was a sewing machine operator for 11 years at the former Public Shirt, Kutztown; 6 years at the former Temple Apparel, Temple; and 25 years at the former Kutztown Sportswear, Kutztown, retiring in 1978. She was a member of New Jerusalem Zion UCC Church, Lenhartsville.

She is survived by Step Sons, Ronald I. Hertzog, Laureldale, Lester Alexander; Step Daughters, Linda L. (Hertzog) Kern, Fleetwood, Vicki A. (Hertzog) Arndt, Lakeland, FL, Joan D. (Schlegel) Swavely, Stony Run; Sisters, Harriet (Arndt) Miller, Lenhartsville, Beatrice (Arndt) Achenbach, Shoemakersville; Brother, Myron I. Arndt, Harberson, DE; 14 Step Grandchildren, 35 Step Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by Step Sons, Thomas J. Hertzog in 1973, Clarence Alexander in 1996 and Step Daughter, Sandra M. (Arndt) Yates in 1994.

Funeral Services are Monday, April 3, 2006 at 10:30 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Friends may call Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
