Ivan C Kroninger

Ivan C. Kroninger, 61, of Fleetwood, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. He was the husband of Gayle M. (Miller) Kroninger. They were married on July 12, 1969.

Born in Maidencreek Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late Jesse A. and Ruth A. (Hess) Kroninger. He was the president and owner of Kroninger’s Tire Warehouse, Inc., Fleetwood, from 1970 until the present. He was a member of Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. He was a 1966 graduate of Brandywine Heights Area High School and was inducted in their Athletic Hall of Fame honoring his baseball career. He was a 1970 graduate of Rider University, Lawrenceville, NJ with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. He played on their Division 1 varsity baseball team which was ranked fifth in the nation during his freshman year. He was a coach for the Legion Baseball Team, Kutztown, from 1986 to 1992, and was proud that three of his players went on to play professional baseball. He was a golfer and member of the former Berkleigh Country Club, Kutztown, a member of the Cougar Tale and a member of the Eagle Rock Resort, Hazelton. He was a supporter of High School athletics, loved going to the movies and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and extended family. He was a veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

He is survived by Wife, Daughter, Candace L. (Kroninger) wife of Darren R. Donato, Oley; Sisters, Patricia R. (Kroninger) wife of Gene A. Greenawalt, Kutztown, Gladys M. (Kroninger) widow of George R. Kennedy, Dryville; Granddaughters, Maya S. and Julianne S. Donato. He was predeceased by Granddaughter, Madelyn M.

Funeral Services are Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 10:30 AM in Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, 16 Fleetwood Road, Fleetwood. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Dryville. Friends may call Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, and Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM in the church.
