Irvin C. Fox, 82, of Greenwich Township, died peacefully, Saturday, December 17, 2022, in his home, with his brother, David, by his side. Born in West Reading, Irvin was a son of the late Irvin J. and Mae E. (Haydt) Fox. He was the widower of Darlene Mae (Zimmerman) Fox, who died April 7, 2017. Irvin was a member of Saint John's United Church of Christ Church, Kutztown. He honorably and faithfully served our country as a member of the United States Air Force.
Irvin was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School, Class of 1958. Irvin worked as a pressman for the former Conover's Printing, Kutztown, from 1963 to 1967; then as a compositor for The Kutztown Publishing Company, Kutztown, from 1967 to 1971; and finally as a compositor for The Reading Eagle Company, Reading, from 1972 until his retirement in 2003. Irvin was an avid outdoorsman. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hamburg; Northend Rod & Gun Club, Reading; Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion, Topton; Mertztown Rod & Gun Club, Mertztown; Life member of Kutztown Rod & Gun Club, Kutztown; Pike Township Sportsmen's Association, Oley; Kutztown Fire Company, No. 1, Kutztown; and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 839, Kutztown. Irvin was also a lifetime member of Cougartale.
Irvin is survived by two brothers: Harry J., husband of, Patricia A. (Rollman) Fox, Hoschton, GA; and David J. Fox, Kutztown; Other survivors include nieces and nephews: Stephanie A. Fox, Esq.; James S., husband of Jodi (Bell) Fox and their children Sean B. Fox and Noah J. Fox; Kristyn M. (Fox), wife of Steven Hughes, and their children, Ashley M. Hughes and Andrew S. Hughes; and Katelyn E. (Fox) Gruber, and her children, Ava E. Kutz, Madylyn K. Gruber, and Mason S. Gruber.
A Graveside Service to honor and celebrate Irvin's life will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. in Hope Cemetery, 234 Church Lane, Kutztown, with The Reverend Scott M. Sanders, officiating. Military Honors provided by Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion Honor Guard, Topton and The United States Air Force, will conclude the services. There are no public viewing or calling hours.
