Ira G Dietrich

Ira G. Dietrich, 85, of Topton, formerly of Kutztown, died Thursday, August 12, 2010, in the hospice unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, where he was a patient since August 6, 2010. He was the husband of the late Lillian M. (Kutz) Dietrich, who died November 29, 2007.

Born in Greenwich Township, he was a son of the late Ira R. and Pearl M. (Grim) Dietrich. He was a 1943 graduate of Kutztown High School. Mr. Dietrich was an Operating Engineer for W. E. Yoder, Inc., Kutztown, for 50 years, retiring in 1992. Prior to that, he was employed by the former Reuben Leibensperger Equipment and Harold Kurtz Chevrolet. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church since 1952, where he served 18 years on church council and served as the secretary of New Bethel Zion Cemetery Association, Grimville, since 1963. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542, Reading since 1967, and a member of Huguenot Lodge #377 F.&A.M., Kutztown and Reading Consistory.

He is survived by Daughter, Brenda L. (Dietrich) Gardner, Topton, with whom he resided; Brother, Willis K. Dietrich, Glenside, PA; Grandchildren, Wendy L. Blatt, Mohnton and Scott M. husband of Melissa A. (Moyer) Blatt, Fleetwood, PA and a Great Grandson, Todd Eric Stewart.

Memorial Services are Monday, August 16, 2010 at 2:00 PM in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 1343 Long Lane Road, Kutztown, PA. Inurnment in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Grimville. Friends may call Monday, from 12:30 to 2:00 PM in the church. Masonic Services by Huguenot Lodge 377, Kutztown will be held at 11:45 AM in the narthex of the church.
