Howard J Wagenhurst

Howard J. Wagenhurst, age 83, formerly of Grandview Manor, Fleetwood, and 1576 Fairview Drive, Leesport, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003 in Kutztown Manor.

Born in Kutztown, he was a son of the late Charles R. and Annie L. (Labe) Wagenhurst. He was a grounds supervisor for Jeannes Hospital, Philadelphia, before retiring in 1980. Previously, he managed surplus stores in Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska. Prior to that, he was a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league, Western Missouri Association and Hutchinson, Kan., and barnstormed in clubs including Lincoln, Nebraska, and Seattle, Washington. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Kutztown. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by Sister, Mae Yerger of Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County.
