Howard F. Miller, 86, of S. Home Avenue, Topton, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008 in his residence. He was the husband of Alma E. (Bower) Miller. They celebrated 57 years of marriage on May 16 th .
Born in Longswamp Township, he was a son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Geiger) Miller. He was a member of Longswamp United Church of Christ, Mertztown. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. He received a number of decorations and citations including the Philippines Liberation ribbon with two bronze stars and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal with four bronze stars, and one arrowhead, and the World War II Victory medal. Mr. Miller was a knitter for Royal Manufacturing, Alburtis for 29 years, retiring in 1986.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alma.
Funeral Services are Friday, June 27, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 E. Weis Street, Topton, PA 19562. Interment in Longswamp Union Cemetery with military honors by the Topton American Legion Post #217. Friends may call Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
The family requests contributions be made to Sacred Heart Visiting Nurse Hospice, 2268 South 12 th Street, Suite 404, Allentown, PA 18103. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
