Howard E. King, 75, of Longswamp Township, died Friday, November 14, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Muth) King. They were married October 16, 1993.
Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Robert and Mary R. (Schneider) King. Howard was a United States Army veteran having service during the Korean Conflict. Mr. King was employed over 35 years until his retirement in 2000, at the former Packaging Corporation of American, Trexlertown. He then was employed as a school bus driver for Eshelman Transportation, Inc., over 13 years, driving bus #79 for Kutztown Area School District. Howard was a member of Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion, Topton. He enjoyed playing darts, woodworking, softball and bowling.
She is survived by Wife; Daughters, Karen L. (King) Kucia, Bethlehem and Robin L. (King) wife of Christopher Figler, Stewartsville, NJ; Son, Gregory S. King, Harrisburg; Step Daughters, Pamela B. (Heller) wife of Steven Egge, Orefield and Judith L. (Heller) wife of Ronald Volanski, Breingisville; Step Son, David J. Heller, Kutztown. Other survivors include a Brother, Larry R. wife of Sandra (Schaedel) King, Whitehall. There are 12 Grandchildren and a Great Granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 12:00 noon from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Gene Smith, officiating. Friends and family may call Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon in the funeral home. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family in Union Cemetery of Fogelsville.
In lieu of flowers contribution may be made to Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 North 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
