Helen M Heffner

Helen M. Heffner, 89, of 77 Mine Road, Mertztown, (Rockland Township), died Tuesday, February 17, 2004, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit, 17 ^th and Chew Streets, Allentown, where she had been a patient since February 14 ^th . Prior to that she was a patient at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, from February 9 ^th until being transferred on February 14th. She was the wife of the late Herbert W. Heffner who died on August 16, 1975.

Born in Maxatawny Township, Berks County, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and the late Mamie E. (Reider) Geiger. She was a sewing machine operator at the former Mertztown Rug Mill, Mertztown, during the 1940’s and 1950’s; and, also at the former Fleetwood Sportswear, Fleetwood, for 15 years. She was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Dryville, and a member of the Woman’s Guild.

She is survived by Sisters, Esther M. (Geiger) Madeira, Kutztown Manor, Kutztown, Louella (Geiger) Conrad, Topton; Daughter-in-law, Nancy L. (Heinly) Heffner with whom she resided; 1 Grandson, 3 Step Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, 6 Step Great Grandsons. She was predeceased by a Son, Ronald H. Heffner, November 22, 1998.

Funeral services are Friday, February 20, 2004 at 10:30 AM from the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 E. Weis Street, Topton. Interment in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, (Rockland Township), Fleetwood. Friends may call Friday from 9:30 AM until time of services.

The family requests contributions be made to the New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 27 Lyons Road, Fleetwood, 19522. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
