Helen K. (Seidel) Logsdon, 101, of Kutztown, died Monday, March 24, 2014 in Kutztown Manor, Inc. She was the widow of Garland A. Logsdon, Sr., who died in 1973.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Max and Emily (Bloomer) Seidel. She was raised and lived much of her life in Louisville, KY, before moving to northeastern Pennsylvania, where she raised her family. Mrs. Logsdon was a homemaker, held various administrative jobs, and was a long time member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. She was a self taught musician and enjoyed playing the piano for her friends and family through her mid 90’s.
She is survived by Sons, Garland A. "Gary", Jr., husband of Mary (Ryan) Logsdon, Lenhartsville, PA, Larry R., husband of Judith (Meerbott) Logsdon, West Palm Beach, FL; 6 Grandchildren, James Logsdon, Megan Hoffman Logsdon, Gabrielle Logsdon, Kelby Donchez, Taylor Donchez, Thaddeus Donchez; and 3 Great Granddaughters, Matilda, Margaret and Payton.
A prayer service will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Interment will be private in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
The family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Avenue, Reading, PA 19605. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
