Harvey W. L. Miller, Sr., 84, of State Street, Mertztown, PA (Longswamp Township), died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, in Kutztown Manor, 120 Trexler Avenue, Kutztown, where he had been a resident since March 31 st . His first wife, Elmira M. (Weidner) Miller died on February 18, 1970. His second wife is Anna L. (Bechtel) Miller of Topton.
Born in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County, PA, he was the son of the late Herbert S. and Eva. (Lamp) Miller. He was a molder for over 20 years at Tyler Pipe Company, Macungie. He was an electric door assembler and repairman for 38 years at the former Bally Case and Cooler, Barto, retiring in 1986. He was a volunteer for Boy Scout Troop #175, Longswamp, during the late 1950’s and 1960’s. He was a member of St. Paul’s UCC Church, Fleetwood.
He is survived by Wife, Sons, Francis H. Miller, Sr., White Haven (Luzerne County), Anthony E. Miller, Sr., Douglassville, Karl H. Miller, Macungie, William L. Miller, Breinigsville; Daughters, Eleanor E. (Miller) Kline, Macungie, Dianne E. (Miller) Bieber, Mertztown, Rita F. (Miller) Rehrig, Kutztown; Brother, Kenneth N. Miller, Kutztown; Sisters, Lorraine (Miller) Moll, Bethel, Shirley M. (Miller) Freebie, Kutztown, Lurea L. (Miller) Reichard, Kutztown; 19 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a Daughter, Barbara E. Miller in 1942 and a Son, Harvey W. L. Miller, Jr. in May 2004.
Funeral Services are Friday, April 15, 2005 at 1:30 PM from the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Dryville. Friends may call Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
The family requests contributions to the FMC Renal Foundation, 45 Constitution Blvd., Kutztown, 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
