Harold W Wieder

Harold W. Wieder, 86, of Exeter Township, died Saturday, November 22, 2014, in Genesis Healthcare Mifflin Center, Shillington. He was the husband of Anna H. (Stankiewicz) Wieder.  They were married October 25, 1952, having just celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary .

Born in Reading , he was a son of the late Harold W., Sr., and Lydia L. (Smith) Wieder. Harold was a Pennsylvania Air National Guard Veteran. He first was employed as a patrolman for the Shillington Borough Police Department; then as a truck driver for Branch Motor Freight, for over 30 years; and then as a dispatcher for the Pennsylvania State Game Commission, until his retirement in the late 1990's . Mr. Wieder was an accomplished trap shooter and gun enthusiast. He competed in trap competitions regularly, and previously was the Pennsylvania State runner-up champion in the senior division. Harold was a life member and past president, secretary and treasurer of the South End Gun Club, Exeter Township. He also held memberships in the NRA and Amateur Trapshooters Association.  Harold's family would like to extend a special thank you to Berks Visiting Nurse Association - Hospice and the staff at Mifflin Center for the great care he received.

He is survived by Wife Anna; Daughter, Cynthia A. (Wieder) wife of Dennis S. Kunkelman, Exeter Township; Son, Craig W. husband of Mary Jo (Liott) Wieder.  Other survivors include, 5 Grandchildren, Lynn M. (Kunkelman) wife of John J. Kornberger, Michael C. Wieder, Esq., Kurt L. Kunkelman, Megan R. Wieder and Lydia A. Wieder .

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 2:00 PM from Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading. Friends and family may call Wednesday, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the funeral home. Inurnment in Forest Hill Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family .
