Harold W Jones

Harold W. “Jonesy” Jones, 84, of Topton, died Tuesday, December 21, 2010 in Spruce Manor, West Reading. He was the husband of the late Elinor W. (Ruhf) Jones who died on April 29, 1993.

Born in Longswamp Township, Berks County, he was the son of the late Russell E. and Verna (Sarig) Jones. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. From 1947 to 1988 he was the owner of the former Harold W. Jones Trucking and Coal Yard, Topton, and from 1983 to 1997 he owned Jones U Storage, Topton. He was a life member of the Ray A. Master, Post #217, American Legion, Topton; a member of the Antique Tractor and Toy Club, Inc.; the Antique Automobile Club of America; and, the Studebaker Drivers Club, Inc.

He is survived by Sister, Florence K. (Jones) Moll, Union Springs, NY; Step Brother, William F. Gehman, Topton and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Interment with Military Honors provided by the Ray A. Master, Post #217, American Legion Honor Guard, Topton, in Western Salisbury Cemetery, Allentown. Friends may call Tuesday, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
