Harold Roy “Flop” Fenstermacher, 84, of Longswamp Township, died on Saturday, December 31, 2016, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, shortly after arrival. Harold was the loving husband of Loretta M. (Humphreys) Fenstermacher. They were married on November 28, 1970.
Born in Topton, he was a son of the late John and Lucy (Witwer) Fenstermacher. Mr. Fenstermacher was a member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mertztown, where he was a former member of the property committee. Harold honorably and faithfully served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He was also a former board member of Longswamp Union Cemetery Association, Mertztown, a member of Lyons and Alburtis Fire Companies and a member of Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion, Topton. Mr. Fenstermacher was employed in numerous capacities at Mack Truck, Inc., both in Allentown and Macungie. He retired in 1989, as a change-over mechanic, after working over 20 years.
In addition to his Wife of 46 years, Loretta, Harold is survived by a Son, Ivan R., husband of Deanne M. (Edelman) Fenstermacher, Whitehall; Step Son, Edson T., husband of Marina L. (Marte) Marko, Reading, Step Daughter, Heather M. (Marko), wife of Perry L. Wiltrout, Mertztown. Other survivors include 7 Grandchildren, Travis J. Fenstermacher, Sarah N. Fenstermacher, Patrick L., husband of Nicole S. (Sciandra) Wiltrout, Pierce L. Wiltrout, Sean A. Wiltrout, Christina M. (Marko), wife of David Petersen and Jennifer L. Marko. In addition to his Parents, Harold was predeceased by his Sister, Mary (Fenstermacher) Smith; and Brothers, John Fenstermacher and William Fenstermacher.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 12:00 Noon from Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, 50 Luther Drive, Mertztown, with the Reverend Jeremiah A. Sassaman, officiating. Interment with Military Honors provided by Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion Honor Guard, Topton, and the United States Marine Corps will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon in the church.
The family requests contributions be made in memory of "Flop" to Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion Honor Guard, 115 Centre Avenue, Topton, PA 19562. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
