Harold K. Kurtz, 92, of Highland Avenue, Kutztown, died Sunday, January 14, 2007 in his residence. He was the husband of Evelyn J. (Bock) Kurtz. They were married on October 30, 1965.
Born in Lebanon County, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel T. and Earla M. (Keller) Kurtz. He was a 1932 graduate of Lebanon High School. He attended Lebanon Valley College for one year, then Duke University, Durham, NC where he received a degree in engineering in 1937. He was a member of the Hugeunot Lodge #377, F.&.A.M, Kutztown, for over 50 years. He owned and operated the former Harold K. Kurtz Chevrolet, Kutztown, from 1946 to 1967; prior to that he was an engineer at the former Ryan Aviation Company, San Diego, CA. He was placed by the US government from there to Link Aviation to instruct celestial training for the US Navy and US Army. He also provided the same training for the Royal Canadian Air Force under the direction of the US government during WWII.
He is survived by his Wife.
Funeral Services are Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 10:30 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Masonic Services are at 10:15 AM.
The family requests contributions to the Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 N. 11 th Street, Reading, PA 19604. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
