Harold J. Schweitzer

Harold J. Schweitzer, 69, of Longswamp Township, died suddenly Saturday, April 3, 2021, in his home.  Born in Reading, he was a son of Shirley M. (Eckroth) Holzinger, Sinking Spring, and the late Roy V. Schweitzer.  Harold was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses, Kutztown.  Harold was a graduate of Oley Valley High School, Class of 1969.

Harold was employed as a line mechanic for Dana Corporation, Reading, for over 20 years.  He also worked for Berks County Parks & Recreation for over 10 years, stationed at Hunsicker's Grove in Longswamp Township.

Harold enjoyed attending estate sales and garage sales and finding a great bargain.  He also enjoyed traveling to the beach and tinkering with small repairs in his shop.  Harold also enjoyed cutting fire wood.

In addition to his mother, Harold is survived by a son, Erik G. Schweitzer, Longswamp Township.  Other survivors include, Sisters:  Dianne L. (Schweitzer), widow of Richard Gildner, Alsace Manor; half-brother: Russell Schweitzer, Reading; half-sisters Brenda Schweitzer, Pittsburgh; Krystal (Holtzinger), wife of Joseph Donkus, Frackville.

In addition to his father, Harold was predeceased by a brother Randy L. Schweitzer and a half sister Patricia A. Schweitzer.

Services for Harold will be private at the conveniences of the family.
