Harold J Hein

Harold J. Hein, 73, of Fredericksville Road, Mertztown (Rockland Township), died Sunday, September 11, 2005, at Hickory and Hilltop Roads, Upper Macungie Township. He was the husband of Hilda M. (Boyer) Hein. They were married on April 17, 1954.

Born in Windsor Township, Berks County, PA, he was the son of Clarence F. Hein of Kutztown Manor, Kutztown, and the late Carrie (Clause) Hein. He was a self employed dairy farmer in the Kutztown area from 1946 to 1953; then, he was a foreman/supervisor in the lasting department at the former Saucony Shoe, Macungie, from 1953 to 1983; and he was a maintenance mechanic at East Penn Manufacturing, Lyon Station, from 1983 retiring in 2000. He was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association. He was a member of Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, Fleetwood.

He is survived by Wife, Father, Son, Darin H. Hein, Mertztown; Daughters, Bonnie L. (Hein) Kraft, Blandon, Karen K. (Hein) Koch, Alburtis; Sisters, Betty (Hein) Sterner, Fleetwood, Nancy (Hein) Thomas, Fleetwood, Linda (Hein) Riggs, Kutztown; 2 Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a Son, James H. Hein, in 1965.

Funeral Services are Friday, September 16, 2005 at 10:30 AM from Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, 16 Fleetwood Road, Fleetwood. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Dryville. Friends may call Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, and Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.
