Harold C. Boyer, 81, of Longswamp Township, died Sunday, September 5, 2010, in his residence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Ethel M. (Reiss) Boyer. They were married 56 years last December.
Born in the village of Red Lyon, Longswamp Township, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Eva V. (Bauer) Boyer. He was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregation of Huff’s Union Church, Alburtis. He honorably served his country during the Korean War as a Sergeant with the US Army. Boyer was a member of Pike Township Sportsman’s Association, Pikeville. Mr. Boyer worked as a fuel oil delivery truck driver for the former Kulp & Stoudt Lumber, now C.R. Dampman, Pennsburg, Montgomery County for 35 years until his retirement in 1992.
He is survived by Wife, Daughters, Debra M. Boyer and Sheila D. (Boyer) Hollenbach, both at home; Sons, Glenn C. husband of Judith L. (Erb) Boyer, Hereford and Barry L. husband of Tiffany S. (Swoyer) Boyer, Hamburg. In addition, there is a Brother, Erwin wife of Grace (Royce) Boyer, Barto. There are also 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services are Friday, September 10, 2010, 10:30 AM from Huff’s Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis. Interment with military honors provided by Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion Honor Guard, Topton, in Huffs Church Union Cemetery, Alburtis. Friends may call Friday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.
The family requests contributions be made to the Capital Improvement Fund of Huff’s Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis, PA 18011. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.>>
