Grace A. Hertzog

Grace A. (Kerschner) Hertzog, 80, formerly of Mertztown, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Kutztown Manor, Inc., where she was a resident since August, 2014. She was the widow of Robert David Hertzog, who died on March 18, 2010. Born in Breinigsville, Grace was a daughter of the late Nelson B. and Alice J. (Funk) Kerschner. She was Lutheran in faith. Mrs. Hertzog was employed as a clerical worker for Prudential Life Insurance Co., for many years, until her retirement.  She previously worked as a sewing machine operator Jomar Manufacturing, Alburtis, for many years. She was a member of Lyons Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and a local card club. Grace was a former Campfire Girls Leader and enjoyed sewing, fishing and bird watching.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa R. (Hertzog), wife of Thomas J. Solt, Alburtis, Gail L. (Hertzog), wife of Wayne L. Sell, Mertztown; son, Michael D., husband of Linda M. (Moyer) Hertzog, Maidencreek Township; seven grandchildren, Matthew Hertzog, Lucas Hertzog, Nathan Solt, Benjamin Solt, Sean Sell, Kevin Sell and Jenna Sell.  There are also six great grandchildren, Ethan, Corbin, Alexandra, Isis, Maia and Harvey Hertzog.

A funeral service to celebrate Grace's life will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Jane M. Kropa officiating. Interment will follow in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown.  Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
