Mr. Glenn A. Swartzentruber

May 10, 1951 — March 3, 2023

Glenn A. Swartzentruber, 71, of Mertztown, flew west on Friday, March 3, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.  He was the husband of Dolores A. (Hein) Swartzentruber.  They were married April 1, 1978.  Born in Allentown, Glenn was a son of the late Allen and Lona E. A. (Sanders) Swartzentruber.  Glenn was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, Mertztown.  Glenn honorably and faithfully served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era.

Glenn was a graduate of Brandywine Heights Area High School, Class of 1969. While in high school he participated in Track and Field.  Glenn graduated from Upper Bucks Technical Institute where he received his Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.

Glenn had a life long career in aviation, including, licensed mechanic, pilot and instructor.

Glenn was a member of the Longswamp Lions Club; Ray A. Master, Post 217 American Legion, Topton; and a member of Quiet Birdmen.

In addition to his wife of 44 years, Dolores, Glenn is survived by a daughter, Beth A. (Swartzentruber), wife of The Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Sassaman, Mertztown; and a son, Kyle D., husband of Jenny D. (Perrin) Swartzentruber, Alburtis.  Other survivors include, a sister, Linda J. (Swartzentruber), wife of Theodore Sterner, Allentown.  There are four grandchildren: Gabriel R., Anna E., Tabitha M. Sassaman; and David H. Swartzentruber.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Glenn's life will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. from Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, 50 Luther Drive, Mertztown, with The Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Sassaman, officiating.  Inurnment in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown.  Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the church.

The family suggests contributions be considered in Glenn's memory to Ray A. Master, American Legion Honor Guard, 133 E. Centre Avenue, Topton, PA 19562.
